Grant Thornton today released the international business report on women in business. The firm has been tracking the proportion of women in senior management since 2004.
The 2014 report shows that the proportion of senior roles filled by women is 24 percent. This is exactly the same proportion as 2013, 2009 and 2007. It is only 5 percent higher than the number recorded ten years ago.
Among the Asia pacific economies, Japan, India and the United Arab Emirates continue to prop up the table.

In an average year, just 14 percent of graduates hired by mid-market Indian businesses are women. The corresponding global figure is 21 percent.
