LT bags AED 943.11 mn contract in Abu Dhabi

Engineering major Larsen & Tourbro on Wednesday said it has bagged a contract worth AED 943.11 million (around Rs 1,400 crore) for developing a midfield terminal complex at the Abu Dhabi International Airport. The contract has been awarded by Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) and the work on the complex is part of this company's major expansion programme of Abu Dhabi International Airport.

L&T will build concrete hard stands for aircraft parking around the new midfield terminal building, including contact and remote stands, among other works, a statement issued here said. The work on the project will commence in April with a construction period of 28 months. The terminal complex is expected to be commissioned by 2017, the release said. Abu Dhabi International Airport is the capital's main airport and the flagship of ADAC's five airports it operates. The airport serves as the base and hub for Etihad Airways, the fast-growing national flag carrier of the United Arab Emirates, and is owned by the government of Abu Dhabi.
