Hindustan Aeronautics showed off its light combat aircraft and helicopter as it marked its 75th anniversary. HAL chairman T Suvarna Raju spoke exclusively to CNBC-TV18's Poornima Murali at the air show. He is confident that the government will divest its stake in the company within a year.
Raju does not see too much competition in defence space despite the emergence of the sector and a lot of micro small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). According to him, HAL would like to move along with other companies. "There is enough to be made and if you are looking at more than a lakh crore of defence investment in this country, it is a huge play field for everybody to do well," he concluded.
