Regulatory troubles are far from over for R Subhramanium, the promoter of Subhiksha Retail who is planning to make a come back. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs has ordered a fresh SFIO probe in affairs of the beleaguered retail chain which had to shut shop in 2009 after running out of cash, reports CNBC-TV18.
In 2010, the ROC in Chennai had drawn adverse conclusions during an initial enquiry. Since then, MCA has not been able to conduct further investigation due to legal hurdles. SFIO is now likely to probe allegation of diversions of funds to shell companies, mismanagement and falsification of accounts by Subhiksha.
